Provisional data from India's Gem and Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) revealed that the country's exports and imports of polished diamonds took a plunge in the month of August, Rough and Polished reported. India exported 3.057 million carats of polished diamonds last month, priced at $1.414 billion. These figures represent a 39% year-over-year decrease by volume and a 41% year-over-year decrease by dollar value.
